TenCrazy.com EmGate DXi2 Notes
------------------------------

TenCrazy.com EmGate is a MIDI-controlled channel mixer gate. It can be triggered by MIDI Note messages for gated behavior, or tweaked gradually using the Mod Wheel as a fader.

Installation
------------

Place the .dll file with your other DXi2 files: "Cakewalk\Shared Dxi" would be a good choice for standard SONAR installations.

Then you must get the DXi information into the Windows registry with regsvr32. Open a command window, CD to the installation directory, and type:

	C:\WINDOWS\system32\regsvr32.exe TcDxi2EmGate10.dll

If your Windows system directory is elsewhere, make the appropriate path change.

Usage
-----

Here's how I use it most of the time...

Put an instance of EmGate into the Aux1 effect bus. Set up two Audio tracks as follows:

Audio 1: Vol = -INF, "A1" light is on, A1 Pan to 100% L, mode to "Pre"
Audio 2: Vol = -INF, "A1" light is on, A1 Pan to 100% R, mode to "Pre"

As such, the two audio tracks will show up in your Aux bus in discrete separation.

Then point a MIDI Track's Out to EmGate. Now you'll be able to toggle the gate with keys or Note events, or cross-fade gradually with the Mod Wheel.

There are a few different modes for mixing the channels. Some favorites:

	Left Only + Right Only
	Normal + Swap Channels
	Silence + Normal
	Mono + Center Cancel

One immediate use is to cross-fade between drum loops to switch up a groove mid-stream. Add a compressor and reverb unit after the EmGate to beef it up and smooth it out!

You can also put a completed song in an Audio Track and "remix" on the fly. Be creative!
